7 a.m. Monday
"Autumn, where's the camera? I need it for work!"
Asleep. As most teenagers are on winter break. "I don't know!!"
"Don't yell at me!"
"Get out of my room!"
"Did you lose the camera?"
"I don't know!"
"You better not have lost the camera!" And she storms out. Thank God.
Listen parents, college people are not conscious at 7 in the morning. So any conversation you have with me I will likely forget about. In this case I remembered because it was very traumatic. Yelling at me in my sleep-induced state? Not nice.
In actuallity, I know exactly where the camera is. Once I was awake, of course.
Needless to say, the early morning argument was not necessary, and should never happen again.
So write this in your parenting books- never wake up a sleeping person on winter break to ask where the camera is.
Telling a teenager the facts of life is like giving a fish a bath. -Arnold H. Glasow
