2012 in Review: Part Four

This fall I received a vision of the distant future. It was as if someone had switched out my sweet&low packets for grainy doses of Growing Up and I was unknowingly spooning it into my morning coffee.

This fall semester found me a senior in college. Graduate school applications and requirements are beginning to give me the shakes. Classes are tougher and I pulled more all-nighter’s than I have fingers to count them on. My Keurig’s motor has slowed to a dull hum.

In October my best friend Kaylee got married at the Mormon temple in Memphis, Tennessee. I was a bridesmaid. Water proof mascara saved the day. It is the God of makeup—it never changes, it never fails me.

In November another best friend who I grew up with and whom I used to play “house” with on the playground told us she was expecting her very own baby, a sweet boy.

Katie bought a house, and Emma graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

I am renting and paying my own bills. (Some, anyway.)

This vision I had was of us cradling Morgan’s baby—our “nephew”—with Kaylee and her husband sitting on the couch beside me in the home that Katie bought. It was a vision of future engagements, future weddings, baby showers, college graduations, new jobs and commitments, and more lessons of this Life.

I’m excited about where we are going and I am thrilled about where we—where I—am at.

Cheers to 2012, a year never to be topped.
