My sister in-law Rachel is around 8 months pregnant and was rushed to the ER late last night because she couldn't breathe. After running a bunch of tests (she wasn't excited she had to have a CT because of all the radiation potentially affecting the baby) they discovered several blood clots in her lungs. They aren't very big which the doctors said is good because if they were any larger she would have died.
They put her on blood thinners which she injects twice daily until the baby is born. After he is born she will take it orally for 6 months. The problem with the blood thinner is that she has to have a C-section and the blood thinners will make it difficult for her blood to clot. She will have to hospitalized a few days before so they can take her off the blood thinner but also make sure she doesn't develop more clots.
The baby is doing good so far. Hopefully he doesn't get distressed with all of Rachel's stress. He could survive outside of the womb but the longer he stays inside, the better!
So there are lots of prayers needed. I'll keep updates on here as I get them. The main thing I'm praying for right now is that the clots go away and she doesn't form any more.
Please pray!
Saw your comment on my blog and thought I would drop by. Prayers are being sent up! Was reading your about me and was schocked at how much we have in common...I too am a pink lover, OTH addict, and many others. Can't wait to read more!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm stopping over from Kelly's Korner. I will pray for your sister-in-law. I can only imagine how scared she must be.
