“Driving Down Front Street, Beaches!”

Sorry in advance for the 18,382 pictures that were taken and that I feel like sharing of this trip. It’s a little obnoxious but when it’s December and I’m dreaming of the beach, I’ll hit up the archives and read these posts.

On Wednesday we woke up early, smeared on tanning oil, made turkey sandwiches and headed down to the beach.

We did the usual: swam, tanned, talked, listened to music, and ate our lunch right on the sand.

With our lunch was pepper jack cheese and nothing to drink. Emma and I decided to walk to the nearest fast food joint to buy $1 cokes. Except we didn’t take our shoes (or clothes, it’s Florida) and do you know how hot the road is when it’s 100 degrees outside?

At one point Emma sat down on the sidewalk and started pouring our purchased beverages on her scalding feet while I stood 100 feet away in the shaded grass. It was hilarious.

After lunch me and Emma took the plunge and signed up to go parasailing. It. Was. Awesome.

At first I was terrified because the only thing holding me in the air was a harness, but when we got to the top all we could say was, “Wow, God made all of this.”

Then Emma said, “What would happen if we fell?” to which I replied, “we would die,” and from that point on we pretty much laughed and prayed we wouldn’t die.

Dinner was an over-rated spot called Dirty Dicks. They have funny shirts (“I Got Crabs At Dirty Dicks”) which was our motivation to try it.

It was gross. I paid $20 for a piece of fish and fries.

Ladies Night at Club LaVela meant we got in free. Holla!

Seriously ya’ll, I wish you could see me dance. It is quite the site. Luckily clubs are dark and most people are too intoxicated to care that I can’t dance.

And there was a really cute guy I danced with that said I was a good dancer. I almost kissed him when he said that, that’s how good of a compliment that was. (But I didn’t because of my good morals and all.)

 

This was definitely one of our most fun nights!
