I prayed over this blog a few nights ago. I recognized the platform I have and so I said to God, “work through this blog, give me opportunity to minister to the young women who are reading.” And He has answered. He never delays, does He?
Annie from What She Saw wrote a post today about choosing continual recovery, somewhat inspired from my Re: Hungry for Healing post. Through that, Melanie found my blog, and through her comment on my post, I read her blog. She wrote a post about body image too and, as I read it, my mouth was hanging open, because it was like I had written it.
That’s what I love about the blog world. Melanie and I will probably never meet. Annie and I will probably never meet. But our hearts can connect through experiences, pain, the mundane. We can connect because of the things we suffer through, because of the deserts that, through prayer and faith, turn into rivers of joy.
And then the Lord slapped me in the face with this idea: share their stories, it’s all about connections.
I want you to email me YOUR story.
Heart wrenching break-up? Eating disorder? Impurity?
The “mundane” school life? Feel like you don’t have much of a “testimony”?
Work? What brings you joy?
Readers, I want to know how the Lord is working in your life. My biggest prayer is that other women will stumble through here—just like Melanie—and they will leave with their mouths open wide and their hearts overflowing with the comfort of knowing that someone else has been there.

*New look to this here blog. What do you think? I was feeling really girly. It could change tomorrow…

ReplyDeletei am so happy i discovered your blog, and you discovered mine :) god definitely works through the blog world - this is something i learned over the summer. i, too, prayed over my blog, wondering how i could serve him through writing it. from that point on, i started writing with honesty and sharing the junk in my life. all too often, we use our blogs to create the life we wish we had, or make our lives look perfect by not talking about our issues. i did that. but when i started exposing myself on my blog, i realized that god was working through me. my email inbox filled up with people who genuinely cared and wanted to get to know me. through that, i have made deeper online friends, rather than bloggers who simply comment back and forth on each other's blogs just to gain popularity. i think i have begun to ramble ....... haha! but i want to say that i admire your vulnerability on here. it truly, truly has a profound impact on readers like me :)
