Day 1: The Story of Me

me

I like to think that God is writing a pretty good story with me. On a chilly day in November I came into the world, pink and with rolls, welcomed into the arms of a scared teenage mother who felt ill-equipped for the task of mothering. After months of her trying her hands, my grandparents stepped in and adopted me, an act of God that gave me a full family—brothers and a sister, down the hall, sharing bedrooms, making messes—with dogs and an aunt who lived next door. My childhood and teenage years were a dream, spent in a small town, the wide-open sky always encouraging my creativity and dreams. In August of 2009 I made the decision to go to a private Christian university an hour drive from my parents home and it has blessed my life in more ways than there are words to say. In another act of God, I traveled the world in the spring of 2012 with 36 people whose hearts were meant to connect with mine, pieces of a puzzle coming together over trains and planes.

And while I hope to write an entire series of my life story at some point, I hope that in this brief synopsis you see what I see daily: the fingerprint of God, the ribbon the Holy Spirit leaves in His wake, the divine plans that have taken me from that chilly day in autumn and turned me into Autumn.

  1. What a beautiful life story, Autumn! God did an awesome job writing it and His fingerprint is so evident in every part of your life!
