Iota Chai Barn Bash 2012

This week was full. Stressful, tearful, coffee-full; full of tests, projects, party planning, and very little sleep.
But also, joyful. I wasn’t sure Friday would ever come, or that I would ever see the light at the end of the tunnel, but by Friday at 5:30 PM, I had finished midterms/projects, chili and cornbread had been cooked for an autumn party of 50 people, tables had been set up, lights had been strung, and the pumpkins were ready to be carved.

My co-activities director and I (for our social club Iota Chi) themed it “hipster” and served chai lattes, hence the title Iota Chai. We’re clever, you get it. We also had a pumpkin flavored dessert contest—my idea, since pumpkin anything is my favorite.

And what’s a partay without a photo booth?

I am thankful that the weather was perfect, that the chili turned out wonderful, that people had a good time, and mostly that it’s over and I can breathe.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to make some chai tea now.

I could give you full details of my wonderful day and of the awesome Iota Chi picnic function tonight, but instead I’ll just say:

Happiness Found.

This Post Gets Better, Believe Me.

September nineteenth, what a day.

I don’t want to bore you by telling you every detail of my super productive day, but will you endure if I promise you pictures of various types of candy corn?

Good.

So today I went to chapel, studied for a test, went to classes, cleaned three loads of laundry, went grocery shopping, took care of “Official Treasurer Business”, ate Zaxby’s for $3, AND ran 4 miles.

Shoot.

WAKE UP! You survived the boring part of the post.

Now as promised, here are pictures of the variety of candy corn we keep around these parts. It’s an an addiction and we have zero shame.

Candy Corn, Candy Corn M&M’s and Candy Corn TAFFY!

Bless the inventors of these delicious sugary treats.

I amal and I’m not taking sides or anything, but the M&M’s had me at first bite.

A Really Awesome, Fabulous, Super, Fantastic, Incredible, Wonderful Weekend.

Attention: I’m sorry I haven’t blogged in days. I was busy having the best weekend of my life, and that is no exaggeration.

Ok, it’s a little bit of an exaggeration but not by much.

My suitemate from freshman year drove up from Texas for a little weekend visit.

21

On her weekend itinerary was:

1. Dinner out for Porky’s birthday

2. Picking up delicious gelato from ZaZa’s. Flavors included maple pecan, cookies & cream, lemon berry, and tiramisu.

3. A stroll down the BIG Dam bridge in Little Rock.

4. A hike up Pinnacle mountain.

F.Y.I. Do not wear Jesus sandals. What on earth was I thinking?

(Funny, we got lost and didn’t make it to the top. But we still found an awesome view!)

Dear Bets, I am so happy that you came for a visit! Thanks for making my freshman year as awesome as it was. Also, thanks for the maple donut and gansta-rap CD. Come back to Harding! kthanksbye.

Dear Readers, come visit me and I’ll show you a good time. Like so.

I amal and don’t really come visit me. Unless I really know you. Because that could be weird. And scary.

Man I Love College

Thursday was a good day, because Thursday I moved back to school!

Since then, I have been doing normal college things, like unpacking, decorating, going to sketchy tattoo shops for belly button piercings (not my own, what do you take me for?), and celebrating birthdays! (Also not my own.)

It is so wonderful to be back!

I amal and I’m actually excited for class to start tomorrow. Weirdly.
